This company was organized in December 1862, and served throughout the war. This regiment, from December 1862 - May 1864, was assigned to the Dept. of South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, defending the Georgia and South Carolina coasts in the vicinity of Savannah, Ga. Around the middle of May 1864, it joined the Army of Tenn. and fought with this command until the surrender of General Johnston at Greensboro, N. C.

Wiley, Jackson - - Name appears only on receipt roll for clothing dated June 12, 1864, and on various prisoner of war records which show that he was captured at Dallas, Ga., June 5, 1864, and was sent to Rock Island Prison, Ill Died there of pneumonia, November 27, 1864. Buried in Grave No. 1621.
Williamson, John - - Name appears only on oath of allegiance to U. S. sworn to at Nashville, Tenn., December 26, 1864.

Winfree, M. F. private December 15, 1862 Deserted, December 29, 1863, and dropped from the roll.
Wingard, John B. private December 16, 1862 Captured near Atlanta, Ga., July 22, 1864, and sent to Camp Chase Prison, Ohio. Died there of dysentery, September 20, 1864. Buried in Grave No. 257, one third mile south of Camp Chase.
