THE VAUGHAN BROTHERS: George Washington Vaughan, Jasper Vaughan and Newton Vaughan were all killed in the Civil War, Jasper at Gaines Mill. Jasper and Newton were twins. Their brother, John W. Vaughan, survived the war. Another brother, James Lafayette, was too young to fight.
